Franke Water Filtration Systems: What You Need for Your Kitchen
Want filtered drinking water at your kitchen sink—or instant hot water for tea and cooking? A Franke setup can serve different needs, but choosing the right components matters. The faucet, filter and heating or chilling tank each have a different job.
What is a Franke water filtration system?
Franke’s under-sink filtration products treat water at the point where you dispense it. A dedicated filtration faucet delivers the water, while a filter assembly sits inside the cabinet. Depending on your chosen setup, you can add compatible equipment to heat or chill it.
Think of it as a set of components rather than assuming that any single product labelled “filtration” contains everything. Franke lists filtration faucets, filter equipment, heating tanks and chillers as separate product categories. Explore Franke’s filtration range.
The components explained
1. The filtration faucet: where the water comes out
A filtration faucet is the dispenser at your sink. Choose a cold-only, hot-only or hot/cold model to match the water you want. For example, the Universal UNJ-FW-304 is a cold-water filtration faucet. Buying the faucet alone does not mean you have bought the under-sink filter or a chiller. See Franke’s UNJ-FW-304.
2. The filter canister and cartridge: the filtration equipment
The FRCNSTR is Franke’s stainless steel under-sink filter canister system, supplied with an FRC06 filter. The FRC06 is also sold separately as a replacement element for FRC canisters. A replacement cartridge is therefore a different purchase from a complete canister system. See the FRCNSTR system.
Franke states that the FRC06 reduces chlorine taste and odour, particulates and turbidity, cysts including Cryptosporidium, and lead. These are specific reduction claims—not a promise to remove every possible substance from every water supply. Read the FRC06 product information.
3. The HT-400: the heating tank
The HT-400 is an under-sink water heating tank. Franke lists a temperature range of 75–98°C. It provides the heating function; it does not replace the filtration assembly. A hot-water setup also needs a compatible dispensing faucet and the appropriate filtration equipment if filtered water is required. See the HT-400 heating tank.
4. The CT-200: the chiller
The CT-200 is an under-sink chiller for cold drinking water. Chilling and filtration are separate functions: the chiller lowers water temperature, while the filter performs filtration. Franke explicitly pairs its UNJ-FW-304 cold-water dispenser with the CT-200 and a separately sold filtration system. See the CT-200 chiller.

Use this table to plan your purchase; check the installation manual and package contents for the exact models before ordering.
Before installation
Confirm the exact faucet and equipment model numbers, cabinet space, countertop hole requirements, water connections and any electrical requirements in the installation manuals. Leave access for filter replacement and servicing. Your installer should confirm the complete layout before work begins.
Filter maintenance
Keep a record of the installed cartridge model and installation date. Follow the replacement and flushing instructions supplied with your exact filter system. Do not choose a replacement solely because it looks similar, or assume one replacement interval applies to every Franke product.
Frequently asked questions
Does a Franke filtration faucet filter water by itself?
The faucet dispenses the water. The compatible filtration equipment does the filtering.
Is the HT-400 a water filter?
No. It is a heating tank. A filtered hot-water setup needs separate filtration equipment.
Do I need a heating tank for cold filtered water?
No. The heating tank is for a compatible hot-water setup. Choose components around the function you want.
Does an FRC06 replacement filter include a canister?
The FRC06 is the replacement filter element. Franke separately identifies the FRCNSTR as the canister system that includes an FRC06.
