Aquabrass vs Kalia vs VOGT: Quality Level, Warranties, Finishes and Canadian Prices
Aquabrass, Kalia and VOGT all belong on the shortlist for a bathroom renovation, but there is no useful universal ranking that makes one brand the winner for every faucet, finish and budget. Compare the exact collection, installation type and warranty category. An entry-level chrome faucet from one brand is not a fair comparison with another brand's tall vessel faucet or thermostatic shower system.
This guide compares their practical positioning, finish choices, residential warranty terms and actual Bathroom Supplier price examples in Canadian dollars. Prices were checked November 5, 2026; tax, installation and site-specific materials are additional. Product links show current pricing and availability.

Where does each brand sit?
| Brand | Our practical positioning | Best reason to shortlist it | What to compare carefully |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aquabrass | Broad showroom range, from accessible premium options to more design-focused selections | A choice of contemporary silhouettes and finishes at several price points | The exact coating and warranty; similar colour names can describe different finishes |
| Kalia | Mid-range to premium, with useful everyday bathroom options | Coordinating a sink faucet with the rest of a practical bathroom specification | Drain inclusion, standard versus tall height and the applicable product warranty |
| VOGT | Mid-range to premium, with coordinated collections and decorative options | Matching faucets, shower controls and other visible fittings | Collection-specific finishes, valve inclusion and PVD versus powder-coated coverage |
These are buying categories based on the products reviewed, not an official quality certification or a laboratory durability ranking. All three have overlapping price points. A higher price may reflect a special finish, taller body or more complex installation rather than a proportional improvement in reliability.
Warranty: what does “lifetime” actually cover?
The most useful warranty question is: Which part, which finish, which purchaser and which type of installation? Keep the original invoice and full model code. Manufacturer coverage and retailer returns are separate matters.
Aquabrass: separate cartridge, finish and component coverage
Aquabrass's policy effective for purchases from November 1, 2025 provides residential lifetime coverage for ceramic-disc cartridges and for polished chrome, electro black, stainless steel and PVD finishes while the original purchaser owns the home. Other cartridges, other parts and other finishes generally receive five years; electronic faucets and components receive two years, excluding batteries. Drain finishes and normal finish wear are excluded. Authorized-dealer, installation-location and care conditions apply. See the current Aquabrass warranty.
Buying implication: ask whether the exact brushed or black finish is PVD, another coating or electro black. Colour alone does not establish the warranty category. An older brochure may show earlier terms; match the applicable policy to the purchase date.

Kalia: use the faucet warranty, not a different product category
Kalia's Canadian FAQ describes a limited lifetime faucet warranty for the original residential purchaser while they own the home, subject to normal use and care. Labour and installation costs are excluded. Its general warranty page says coverage varies by product category and commercial applications receive one year. A separate Kalia SPEC price book has different terms, including a defined duration for its “limited lifetime” wording; do not apply that document automatically to every Kalia retail faucet. Confirm the exact model's supplied warranty. Sources: Kalia Canada FAQ, warranty and service and Kalia SPEC warranty table.

VOGT: finish technology makes a significant difference
VOGT's current residential policy gives the eligible original owner limited lifetime coverage for mechanical components and chrome/PVD finishes. Powder-coated finishes have one year; electronic components and solenoids have five years. Rental and other non-owner-occupied uses fall under different commercial terms: mechanical components generally receive three years and finishes/electronics one year. Removal, reinstallation and access/finishing costs are the owner's responsibility. Read the VOGT warranty for eligibility and exclusions.
Buying implication: “matte black” is a colour description. Confirm its actual coating on the chosen item before assuming the finish has lifetime coverage.
Finish selection: how to build a coordinated bathroom
Available finishes vary by collection, configuration and product. A brand's complete palette is not a promise that every faucet, drain, shower valve and accessory comes in every colour.
- Aquabrass: the reviewed Alpha faucet offers polished chrome, brushed nickel and black; the reviewed kitchen models add brushed gold. Its current finish page also presents polished nickel, polished gold and brushed black chrome among the choices for eligible products. Check availability rather than treating the full palette as stock. Manufacturer finish reference.
- Kalia: the Rustik models reviewed here offer chrome, black and Pure Nickel PVD. Those three choices are confirmed on the linked store models; they are not a count of the entire Kalia catalogue.
- VOGT: the reviewed Worgl wall faucet offers polished chrome, brushed nickel, matte black and brushed gold. Other collections can expand the design choices: the manufacturer's Zehn page lists several two-tone combinations and handle choices. Check the selected collection's specification.
Request physical samples or compare showroom pieces under the lighting planned for the room. Put the faucet, shower trim, drain and cabinet hardware together. Two products called “brushed gold” can differ in warmth, sheen and texture. You can mix metals deliberately, but buying by colour name alone makes an accidental mismatch more likely.
Actual price examples in Canada
The following are selected examples, not each brand's minimum-to-maximum catalogue range. Compare like-for-like products before choosing a budget.
| Product and installation | Reviewed price, CAD | What affects the comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Aquabrass Alpha 92014, standard single-hole lavatory | $404.25–$527.45 | Polished chrome versus brushed nickel/black |
| Aquabrass Alpha 92020, tall lavatory | $577.50–$750.75 | Tall format; chrome versus brushed nickel |
| Kalia Rustik BF1480, standard single-hole, without drain | $452.70–$542.70 | Chrome, Pure Nickel PVD or black |
| Kalia Rustik BF1482, tall single-hole | $548.10–$657.00 | Height and finish |
| VOGT Worgl, wall-mounted lavatory | $402.00–$579.00 | Different installation from a deck-mounted faucet; confirm rough-in scope |
| VOGT Antau vessel-sink faucet, chrome | $447.00 | Vessel-sink format; compare reach and overall height |
For other budgets, the reviewed Aquabrass Margherita kitchen faucet was $304.15–$458.15. The reviewed VOGT Antau two-way pressure-balance shower kit was $873.75, while the two-way thermostatic kit was $1,013.25. These are different product categories and control systems, not evidence that one brand is universally cheaper.
How to choose the right model
- Start with the sink. Match the hole layout, mounting surface and faucet reach to the bowl. For a vessel sink, check clearance above the rim and where the water lands.
- Specify the complete assembly. Ask whether the price includes the drain, rough-in valve, trim and any required adapters. “Without drain” is a material difference.
- Check the shower behind the finish. Record pressure-balance or thermostatic operation, outlet count and the exact valve/trim combination before rough-in.
- Compare the same finish tier. Use chrome-to-chrome first, then price the finish you actually want.
- Read service documents. Keep a parts diagram, model code and invoice where a future owner or plumber can find them.
Which one should you choose?
Shortlist Aquabrass when the silhouette or a specific finish is the starting point of the design. Shortlist Kalia when a practical, coordinated bathroom specification and clear faucet/drain choices are the priority. Shortlist VOGT when you want to compare coordinated fittings or collection-specific decorative combinations. Then compare two or three actual models on the same specification sheet. The best choice is the model that fits the room, installation and service expectations.
Frequently asked questions
Is Aquabrass better than Kalia or VOGT?
No single brand-level answer is supported by the products compared here. Choose using the exact model, finish, installation scope and applicable warranty rather than a blanket ranking.
Does a lifetime warranty cover installation labour?
Do not assume it does. Review the manufacturer's labour and access exclusions before ordering, especially for concealed valves.
Is gold always more expensive than chrome?
Not universally. The finish premium depends on the collection and current price. Compare selected variants on the product page.
Can I order matching items later?
Check collection availability when planning the project. If an exact match matters, specify the full visible set together and confirm lead times before committing to installation dates.
